All About Disney Classics

Did You Grow Up With Disney Motion Pictures? Share The Joy With Your Kids

Could you imagine a world without Disney movies. Most adults I know grew up with great movies llike Lady and The Tramp, Cindarella and Snow White.  Disney hasn’t stopped producing great movies and there are now many more to choose from.

Each tale is unique and you are certain to find a favorite or two among the many films that have been created over the years. Disney movies offer something for everyone no matter what your age. I still get a kick out of seeing the older movies. The artwork is nothing short of amazing. With advances in technology the newer movies are even more beautiful and captivating.

When you watch the movies your are watching a work of art. Considering that I remember Snow White when it was in the theaters, I can attest that I have had my fair share of films to compare. Computer generated artwork is just as valid as the old hand drawn movies. It takes skill, patience and talent to create something great. The old hand drawn movies will always have the respect they deserve but the newer computer generated imagery is truly stunning.

Children don’t care how the movies were created, they just love them anyway. With engaging story lines and original plot lines children of all ages will find something to enjoy in every Disney movie.

Now that I’m a parent, I make sure that my little ones have all of the same wonderful experiences with Disney movies as I did. With so many to collect it could take a while but the effort is worthwile for such great entertainment.

Being able to have the collection in your own home is great news for kid. They have a chance to see classic Walt Disney movies like Bambi in the comfort of our home. For some reason you just don’t see these movies on the television and they are never re-released to the theatres so this is pretty much the only option you have if you want to share your favorite childhood movies with your kids.

While I do love the amazing new Disney movies, I still get a thrill when my kids want to watch one of the older classics. I love having the chance to share my childhood memories with my children, it’s a great bonding experience for all of us.

Jodie boasts a substantial collection of Walt disney movies and hoped to write about her passion. She also writes about various other hobbies on her other web sites. For other examples of her enthusiasm for princesses check out her websites Disney princess play tent

Sensationalism in Film

Posted on 07 July 2009 by admin

When I think of the horrible movies I watched in the Seventies I am appalled. Somehow I missed out on all these amazing films I am watching today in this film class. I’d like to blame it on my parents but they never stopped me from seeing Jaws, The Fury, Carrie, Willard, and the absolute worst – Alive! (which was about a giant killer baby!).

In middle school and high school we weren’t much interested in ’serious’ films. Still, I did manage to see American Gigolo (my black sheep of the family aunt took me to see it at the drive-through) and my parents dragged me to All the President’s Men, where I whined the whole time. Admittedly, I was able to actually sit through these films instead of covering my eyes for ¾ of the film. I walked out of Jaws because it freaked me out so much. That should have told me something. But one had to be cool, right?

Our middle class youth culture had no interest in politics or social issues – we were after titillation and hair-raising horror. My friends and I were appalled by One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest – it was probably the first time we left a movie silent, all of us deep in thought. Today our kids don’t have to wait in long lines to see a killer baby bite the head off the milkman – they can flick on the television or the internet and escape into whatever world they want.

The film fare available today has reached epic proportions of sensationalism and this bothers me greatly. I stay away from most of this fluff now – I’d rather read a book and wait for the once a year film that makes me leave the theater silent.
