Posted on 10 July 2009 by movies

New York, NY (PRWEB) July 9, 2009 — Cartoon Network, the number one kids’ channel in Asia Pacific, today announced that GoAnimate’s ground breaking software-as-a-service (SaaS) technology will power Toon Creator, a new regional interactive platform which aims to inspire creativity in kids through technology.

“As the leading kids’ entertainment provider, we are encouraging kids to think out of the box via new and innovative platforms. Cartoon Network’s Toon Creator, built on GoAnimate’s SaaS platform, gives kids the unique opportunity to create their own animation using some of the Network’s most popular characters. For the first time ever, kids can step into the shoes of a Cartoon Network animator while being able to interact with their favorite toons like never before,” said Benjamin Grubbs, Regional Director of Turner Entertainment Interactive Media.

As part of the interactive initiative, Cartoon Network and Hewlett-Packard have teamed up to launch the inaugural Toon Creator Awards, set to run from July 13 to September 30, 2009. The Toon Creator Awards will encourage kids to create their own 25-second short animation using characters from the hit Ben 10: Alien Force and Chowder animated series. The program aims to inspire creativity in children while helping them prepare for tomorrow’s academic challenges through computer technology education today.

“For the last year at GoAnimate.com, we have been helping major brands give their fans an entirely new way to interact with them via their own customizable animations,” said Alvin Hung, Founder and CEO, GoAnimate. “By licensing the GoAnimate platform as a service, we are now helping brands engage with their customers and fans directly from their own sites for even deeper interaction. Being chosen by Cartoon Network to power their creative awards program for kids is a great validation of our SaaS platform, and is the first of many to come.”

GoAnimate’s new software-as-a-service (SaaS) approach enables companies to integrate the advanced animation automation technology into their own websites for a completely new brand interaction experience that revolutionizes how fans engage with their favorite brands. As the next evolutionary step in brand interaction, GoAnimate’s SaaS platform puts customizable, animated versions of the brands into the hands of customers and fans and enables them to create their own content on the websites.
